Screenprinting

Our Screenprinting Journey

Definition:
The method in which ink is applied directly to the surface to be printed (substrate). The image to be printed is photographically transferred to a very fine fabric (the screen) such that the non-printing areas are blocked off and the fabric serves as a stencil.          The ink is wiped across the screen to pass through the unblocked pores and reach the substrate. For each color to be printed a separate screen is prepared and the process is repeated.

Now that the technical mumbo jumbo is out of the way 😎 . We here at Arrington Sports take great pride in the quality of product and customization that we provide.

Back in the good old days the majority of “prints” were cut out of vinyl and ironed on. They looked good but did not last more than 6 months to a year or so depending on the washing and drying they received. Colors were limited and cost always fluctuated greatly depending on the sheet size of the vinyl used. This process is extremely labor intensive. Create the design, cut the vinyl, go through the “weeding” process (process to pick out all the vinyl you don’t need), and finally press the design on. The look was okay but the feel left something to be desired. Knowing this, we knew it was time to upgrade our services.

Enter the screenprinted transfer stage. Wow! We can get more colors and better access to designs. Cost to the customer was more even and reasonable. While the application process was basically the same, quantities were easier to handle with a lot of the hands on production time gone we were able to save our customers time and money. Quality was also increased tremendously. These designs didn’t peel off, lasted longer, and had a much better look and feel. After a few years we knew we needed to give our customers another upgrade. We started the search…

Finally! This is the upgrade so many had been waiting for, actual in house screenprinting. This gave us much more control over cost, colors, and designs. This was also a whole new ball game. We did our homework and learned how to give our customers the best customized product that we had ever produced. Whatever design you have, we can do it. Whatever colors you need, we can get them. Whatever apparel material you want to print on, yes we can do it. The look and feel of a printed product is much better. The prints last longer and colors hold up better. Cost is better for our customers at lower quantities and turn-around time has stayed steady throughout the entire process. Now that we have made it this far please don’t think we have stopped looking for the next “upgrade“. From the types of ink to the types of apparel, we are always looking for the best products for you.

All of our designs are created in-house which makes sure you receive the design you need. We also give you the best access to the design process. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
